swaying to the rhythm

I find it's hard to catch your step when you stumble and life changes its tune on you. Truthfully, I've felt a little off balance throughout most of it. I've saved face by rocking back and forth, swaying to an unexplored yet beautiful new song.

Yesterday I realized how far we've come. Brantlee was playing in his room by himself; Tim, reading at his desk while I was hovering over a fabric mat cutting out new patterns. I deemed it pajama day, since we didn't leave our jammies until early evening.
ATTN NEW MOMMIES: It gets easier. Brantlee is 15 months old and this age is so much fun and he has learned to play (make a mess) on his own. I giggle every time this little guy runs to a radio, turns on the music, and begins to dance. Even as babies, music is in us.

We have grown so much through these clumsy steps. I was reminded that the second you let go, you can rediscover your rhythm. Tim reminds me that it's still okay to be clumsy. We are lucky enough to have amazing people surrounding us and sway with us while we find our beat. He and Brantlee both remind me that life can be oh soooo good - full of beauty, when you stop dragging your feet and glide with your flow.

Love,

Ally
